ENTRY PERIOD OFFICIALLY REOPEN!
FEBRUARY 17, 2020 – JANUARY 1, 2021
Adding the overlay helps our judges see your entries! We like to call it extra credit!
#ONESHOT IS FREE TO ENTER.
You can enter as many times as you want, in as many categories as you want, and there is zero entry fee.
YOU MUST BE LICENSED.
For all hair categories, you must be a licensed cosmetologist to enter (or in cosmetology school or an apprenticeship for the Student category). To enter the Nails category, you must be a licensed nail technician. The Makeup category does not require a license.
HASHTAGS MUST BE IN THE CAPTION—NOT THE COMMENTS.
For your entries to be eligible, place the appropriate category hashtags in the caption of your entry, not the comments section.
ENTRIES MUST BE CREATED BETWEEN APRIL 9, 2019-JANUARY 1, 2021.
Work created before April 9, 2019 should not be submitted.
DON’T PLACE HASHTAGS ON OLD POSTS.
Only entries posted during the official #ONESHOT entry period (February 17, 2020 – January 1, 2021) will be considered. Do not add #ONESHOT hashtags to old posts.
HERE ARE THE TYPES OF ENTRIES ACCEPTED.
Transformation and Extensions categories require one side-by-side photo showing the before and after, with the client’s face visible. We suggest using Instagram’s Layout app ( Apple App Store / Google Play ) to place pictures together, side by side, in order to create one image as your entry.
Carousel posts are ONLY accepted for BIG SHOT Collections and HOT SHOT Salon Decor & Suite Decor.
BIG SHOT Collections entries must be three images, with models’ faces visible in all three images.
IMAGES ARE ONLY ELIGIBLE FOR THE CATEGORIES IN WHICH THEY ARE TAGGED.
For example, if one hairdresser does a haircut and another does haircolor, and the image is chosen to be a finalist in a haircolor category, the hairdresser who did the haircut will not be attributed as a finalist.
BE PREPARED TO PROVIDE A SIGNED RELEASE FORM FOR YOUR ENTRIES.
On request, entrants must be able to provide a signed release form for all persons who appear in the photograph or video submitted, and/or from the owner of any material that appears in the photograph or video entry.

Upon BTC’s request, each stylist must be prepared to provide (within five (5) calendar days of receipt of BTC’s request) a signed release from all persons who appear in the photograph submitted, and/or from the owner of any material that appears in the photograph entry, authorizing BTC to reproduce, distribute, display, and create derivative works of the entry in connection with the Contest and promotion of the Contest, in any media now or hereafter known. Failure to provide such releases upon request may result in disqualification at any time during the Contest and selection of an alternate winner.
For the purposes of these Terms and Conditions, the entrant will be deemed to be in receipt of BTC’s request or notification, (a) in the event that BTC sends the request by postal mail, five business days after the request was sent by BTC, or (b) in the event that BTC sends the request by email or other electronic means including a message on Instagram, on the day that the email or electronic transmission or posting was sent or posted by BTC.
