#ONESHOT IS FREE TO ENTER.

  • You can enter as many times as you want, in as many categories as you want and there is zero entry fee.
  • *Note: Students are free to enter any category.

YOU MUST BE LICENSED.

Hair categories may only be entered by licensed cosmetologists and barbers. Please note the following exceptions:

  • Intricate Braids & Twists: You must be a licensed braider OR licensed cosmetologist or barber if your state requires such a license. If your state does not require a license, you are not required to hold one.
  • Extensions: You must be licensed for extensions if your state requires such a license. If your state does not require such a license, you are not required to hold one.
  • Student: You must have been in cosmetology school at the time you created your entry.

WORK MUST BE CREATED WITHIN THESE DATES:

HOT SHOT: FEB. 1, 2023 – MAR. 4, 2024

BIG SHOT: FEB. 1, 2023 – MAR. 31, 2024

  • If you previously posted your shot on Instagram before the entry period, your shots must be reposted between the dates listed above. Shots posted outside of this range will not be considered.
  • Work created before February 1, 2023 will not be eligible.

HASHTAGS MUST BE IN THE CAPTION—NOT THE COMMENTS.

  • For your entries to be eligible, place the appropriate category hashtags in the caption of your entry, not the comments section.
  • ONLY use the hashtags that are appropriate for your shot. Do NOT use all hashtags on every post.

DON’T PLACE HASHTAGS ON OLD POSTS.

  • Only entries posted during the official #ONESHOT entry period will be considered. Do not add #ONESHOT hashtags to old posts.

SHOTS ARE ONLY ELIGIBLE FOR THE CATEGORIES IN WHICH THEY ARE TAGGED.

  • Example: A colorist that is tagged/credited on a haircut entry will NOT be attributed as a finalist in a cutting category.

ONLY ONE ARTIST WILL BE CREDITED PER ENTRY.

Exceptions include:

  • Extensions – Up to 2 artists can be credited: Installer & Cut /Colorist.
  • Collaboration – Up to 4 artists can be credited: Cut, Color, Hairstyle & Makeup
